How we stay honest
(and how we get paid).

Most curation sites won't show you this page. We make it the fourth link in the nav. If you're reading this far, you already care — so here's everything.

Five rules, no asterisks.

§ I
01

We buy everything we review.

Not a gift guide quote. A rule. Every product we recommend was purchased by an editor with their own budget. Review samples, loaners, and 'test units' are returned unopened or donated. This is expensive. It's also the reason we're still here.

02

Affiliate commissions are disclosed — and don't sway scores.

Most links on this site are affiliate links. When you click and buy, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We maintain a firewall: the editors who choose what to review don't know which brands pay what. The commerce team surfaces links AFTER the verdict is locked.

03

No sponsored posts. No paid placements. No rate card.

We don't sell ads. We don't accept payment for inclusion. We don't let brands review our copy before publication. If someone tells you otherwise, they're confusing us with a different site.

04

We publish corrections.

If we made a factual mistake, it gets a dated correction box on the article — not a silent edit. Errata are logged on this page at the bottom so readers can see what we got wrong and when.

05

Zero AI-generated editorial content.

Every word on this site is written by a human with a byline. We use AI to spell-check and suggest alt-text captions for images. We do not use AI to draft articles, reviews, or product copy.

FTC · DISCLOSURE§ II

Affiliate disclosure.

Some links on this site are affiliate links. When you buy through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We never let that affect our recommendations — we have an internal firewall between the editorial team and the affiliate team, and we disclose every relationship.

We Tested 27 'Quiet Luxury' Tees

The first version said Uniqlo's Supima Ribbed Crew was $29. It's $24. We hate when we do this.

The Kettle Question, Settled

We claimed the Fellow Stagg EKG was 900W. It's 1200W. We checked the wrong spec sheet.

PRIVACY · TL;DR§ IV

What we collect, in plain English.

  • Newsletter email.

If you subscribe, we store your email and when you opened what. That's it. Unsubscribe kills the whole record.

  • Page views.

Anonymous, aggregated. Plausible analytics. No cookies, no fingerprinting.

  • Affiliate clicks.

We count that a link was clicked. We can't tell what you bought or how much you spent.

  • What we will never do.

Sell your email, share your data with brands, or retarget you with ads.
